Waters

Overview

Water is the thread that connects our cultures, spiritualities, communities, and landscapes. EarthKeepers 360 works alongside the people who have long protected and honored water as sacred.  We collaborate with acequia communities carrying forward centuries of shared governance, conservation organizations defending rivers and watersheds, policy advocates advancing statewide water security, and educators grounding the next generation in the importance of water. Across this work, we affirm that water is not simply a commodity or an input for growth: it is a spiritual, living inheritance that sustains wildlife, cultural identity, and community life. Facing prolonged drought, rising temperatures, wildfire, and mounting pressure on rivers and aquifers, responsible stewardship means respecting the limits of the land and ensuring that today’s choices do not diminish the future of Tribal communities, traditional villages, farmers, and generations yet to come.

EarthKeepers 360 also partners with religious leaders, including the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, whose pastoral letter Uniting for Our Sacred Waters calls people of faith and conscience to meet the water crisis with gratitude, reverence, responsibility, justice, and action. We help communities deepen their spiritual, cultural, and ecological relationship with water through dialogue, education, conservation, shared labor, and advocacy. By listening to traditional ecological knowledge of Indigenous communities and acequias, supporting clean and living rivers and aquifers, and bringing water into decisions about land use, housing, energy, and economic development, we encourage a future shaped by collective responsibility rather than unlimited demand. Our work lifts up a truth shared across various spiritual traditions: that water is life, water connects us, and water is sacred.
